Lorraine 1.1: NTSC, a Library you can dig into and a gamepad to choose

American games that refused a PAL Amiga finally start: a "(USA)" or "NTSC" file switches to 60 Hz by itself. Papiosaur releases Lorraine 1.1, his Amiga emulator developed from scratch for MorphOS, and the A1200 at original speed now runs as fast as a real one.

The Library sorts and filters: games, demos or unknown titles, year, publisher, chipset, and two "column = value" filters that combine. A gamepad moves through it and Fire starts the game. A game taken for a demo of the same name is fixed with a right click, without renaming the file, and AGA games start with a 68030, its FPU and 16 MB of Fast memory.

Also new: autofire, the CD32 gamepad, ADZ images and DMS images in Deep mode. Free; a donation of 5 EUR or more unlocks the 1,469 shipped screenshots. Kickstart ROMs are still to be supplied. Requires MorphOS 3.20 and sdl2.library for gamepads; a 74 MB archive.

Papio-Design 1.3: pictures travel from one program to another

Copy in Pixelios, paste in Graphos or Folios, and back: pictures, text and tables now travel through the clipboard between the programs of the suite, and on to Stylos, Sigma and Diapos. Papiosaur releases Papio-Design 1.3, the graphics suite that brings together Folios (page layout), Graphos (vector drawing), Momento (photos) and Pixelios (pixel painting), with Cut, Copy and Paste buttons and the Ctrl+X, C and V shortcuts.

Graphos 1.3 opens Windows WMF and EMF clip art and DR2D drawings from ProVector, exports EPS and DR2D, and combines shapes (union, difference, intersection, exclusion). Pixelios 1.4 gains the magic wand and the gradient tool; Momento 1.13 shows the shooting data of a photo and can crop it.

Requires MorphOS 3.20. It is shareware: each program can be tried as a demo, €59.90 for the whole pack, future updates included. A 26 MB archive.

Papio-Office 2.7: pictures everywhere, and coloured tabs

A picture pasted from Pixelios or Graphos keeps its transparent background instead of turning black, and what you copy in Stylos, Sigma or Diapos goes to other programs as a picture ready to use. Papiosaur releases Papio-Office 2.7, the office suite for MorphOS, in step with Papio-Design 1.3 released the same day.

Sigma 3.8 takes pictures on the sheet, moved and resized by their handles, and colours the sheet tabs; both are kept in .ods and .xlsx. Diapos 2.5 no longer leaves out an SVG picture coming from LibreOffice, nor a picture in a format .pptx and .odp cannot hold. In Cardex 1.4, a card can hold a photo, which follows the contacts in vCard.

Requires MorphOS 3.20. It is shareware: each program can be tried as a demo, €89.90 for the entire suite, future updates included. A 49 MB archive.

RSS-Reader 1.5: podcasts play to the end

The end of a podcast could crash or freeze the program: that is fixed. Papiosaur releases RSS-Reader 1.5, his RSS and Atom feed reader for MorphOS, which also plays the audio attached to feeds. The Play button no longer shows a cut-off label after a pause, and Ctrl-C now quits the program.

Requires MorphOS 3.19 and HTMLview.mcc, not included. It is shareware: the demo is limited to five feeds, €5 for the full version, free for registered Stylos users. A 2 MB archive.

Iris 1.55: mail goes out, in paragraphs, even from Outlook

Some SMTP servers rejected messages sent from Iris, others delivered them as a single block with no line breaks. Badly encoded line endings were to blame, and that is fixed. Jacek Piszczek updates Iris to version 1.55, the MorphOS IMAP email client that renders HTML with WebKit.

Outlook accounts can sign in again through OAuth2, and that sign-in is more reliable for every provider. SSL/TLS connections are more secure and no longer drop as easily. Version 1.54, released more quietly, reworked how a calendar event cancellation is sent: it now reaches the right people, with the right status.

Iris comes with MorphOS, which shipped 1.53 with version 3.20: this Iris update installs over it. The 31 MB archive also contains Contacts, for CardDAV address books.

Easy2Install 1.92: clean uninstalls, Screenbars included

Uninstalling a program now runs the uninstall script it provides, and the log lists every deleted file. Papiosaur releases Easy2Install 1.92, the package manager that downloads, installs and launches MorphOS-Storage archives from the database kept by BeWorld.

Screenbar modules are recognised wherever they were unpacked, with their real version, and their catalogs go to SYS:Locale. Install scripts start again (CPUGauge, PixelPicker), files keep their date and comment, and SDL 2 and SDL 3 each show their own version. Starting Easy2Install a second time simply brings the open window to the front.

gTranslator 3.8: whole sentences, no limit

Translating several sentences at once works again, and the limit that stopped the module after two or three translations is gone. Thomas Igracki releases gTranslator 3.8, the Screenbar module that opens Google Translate with one click and translates as you type.

The clipboard hook is still its best trick: any copied text appears translated in a bubble under the mouse, and right Amiga+Shift+X replaces the selection with its translation. This release also fixes the update check and adds an installer script. A 273 KB archive.

Lorraine 1.0: hard disks, saves and twenty floppies

A game asking for a save disk gets one with a click, and disks taken from an archive, DMS and IPF images now accept writes: the changes go to DiskSaves/, the original image stays untouched. Papiosaur releases Lorraine 1.0, the Amiga emulator developed from scratch for MorphOS, running an A500 and an A1200 at 50 frames per second on PowerPC.

The Hardware page takes two HDF files and ten drawers or archives mounted as disks, each with Boot and read-only. Multi-disk games keep up to twenty disks, which the automatic disk swap goes through, and WHDLoad games also start from a ZIP. The JIT for the 68020 to 68060 gains about a third in 3D demos, and Kick Off 2, Double Dragon II, Xenon 2 or Toki now start.

ScummVM 2026.4.0: one engine at a time, and two newcomers

ScummVM's engines are no longer all loaded at once: each one is now a separate plugin, and only the engine of the game you start goes into memory. BeWorld ports ScummVM 2026.4.0 to MorphOS, built with the 3.20 SDK.

This release adds the Watchmaker engine and enables the Dungeon Master one; TinyGL textures are fixed, and images go through the system's jfif.library and png.library. SDL 3.4.17, FluidSynth 2.6.1 and OpenSSL 4.0.0 come along.

Requires MorphOS 3.20 and SDL 3.4.17 or later. The plugins drawer (111 plugins) must stay next to the executable: those from another version won't work. OpenGL shaders remain disabled (HP1, TWP). A 139 MB archive.

TelegramAmiga 0.0.96: typing keeps up, even on a small machine

Typing a message no longer redraws the whole window: only the input field is updated, the rest waits for a pause. Michele Dipace releases TelegramAmiga 0.0.96, the native Telegram client that speaks MTProto straight from the machine. The window opens at once on the cached chat list, and long chats repaint faster.

A "Show avatars" setting turns profile pictures off to save time and memory. The window now closes with Amiga+Q or its close gadget, no longer with Q or Esc. An oversized download is refused before it starts, and changing the Workbench screen mode no longer stalls the window. Still alpha, released under the MIT licence; a 546 KB archive.
