Its random play could serve you the same track again and again. A week after its release, Bernd Assenmacher's audio CD player puts that right.

The F1 key that opened the guide is gone, as it did not always work; the guide itself is up to date. A few cosmetic touches round off the release. It is free, and the author welcomes donations.

TelegramAmiga 0.0.92 looks after its bubbles

A pasted link gave you a bare address, a video came down to "[Photo]". Not any more: Michele Dipace looks after what lands in the bubbles of the Amiga's Telegram client.

A link now carries its preview — site, title, start of the description, picture if there is one. A video shows a frame, length and size beside it. And an attachment introduces itself by what it is rather than what it is called: a sticker shows its emoji, a clip its length, a voice note its own. The login panel finally says where Telegram sent the code — inside Telegram rather than by SMS when another device is signed in.

Three fixes show in daily use: a message longer than 460 characters finally goes out instead of failing in silence; a downloaded program comes out runnable; and a bubble no longer holds space for a picture it cannot decode, it falls back to the text.

Stefkos releases three native programs in one week

Paweł « Stefkos » Stefański has put out three native MorphOS programs one after the other: an artificial intelligence client, a presentation program and a new release of his paint program.

AI4MorphOS 1.0 talks to Anthropic's Claude, OpenAI, DeepSeek or OpenRouter from a MUI window, the answer appearing as it comes. It can also be switched to agent mode: it lists, reads and writes files, searches, replaces, runs commands, fetches a web page and keeps context in memory. It only works in the drawers you point it at, and asks the user before every action. Conversations are saved on their own. You need an internet connection and an access key from the provider of your choice.

Koliber 0.6 drops the stack of slides: the whole talk lives on a single borderless canvas where you place text, pictures and shapes, and the camera flies from one point to the next, zooming, panning and rotating. Presentation, kiosk and plain slideshow modes, .pptx read and write, output to HTML5, MP4, MKV, PDF and images, UTF-8 and TrueType fonts. Documents are saved as .koliber, editable, or .koliberx, self-contained, played by a dedicated player. The author warns this is an early version, still very much a work in progress.

Cameleon 0.98 rebuilds its brush system from scratch. A pen is no longer a loaded image but a set of parameters generated on the fly, saved as .cpen; its editor shows the curved stroke live and groups the settings in sections — shape, dynamics, scattering, texture. The picker offers eighteen ready-made pens. Effects and plugins now show live on the canvas, and can be undone. Icon themes and several fixes come along, among them the Sobel plugin crashes. It requires MorphOS 3.x, MUI and ttengine.

Papio-Office 1.6 gives Diapos its accents back

Papiosaur releases Papio-Office 1.6, the office suite for MorphOS. This one repairs two faults that hit everyone who does not write in English, and opens the slideshow to the second screen.

Diapos 1.5: accented letters no longer drag an empty square behind them. Every text drawn or measured was given a length in bytes while the text engine counts characters: an accented letter takes two, so one character too many was drawn. German, French and Nordic keyboards type their own letters again, the euro sign included. The prompts of a new slide, the document properties and the notes keep their accents too.

The slideshow now asks which monitor to open on. The Diapos window stays open on the other screen and follows the show: the slide being projected and its notes stay in front of the speaker while the room sees the show. The mouse pointer is out of the way.

IPP-PrintScan 1.4: a file the printer cannot take says so as soon as it is dropped, instead of answering "file ready" while the preview beside it said the opposite. The scanning page looks for the scanner by itself when the one it used last does not answer, and the profiles join the suite's common settings drawer.

AmiArcadia 36.64 no longer crashes when you change machine

Stefan Haubenthal updates his MorphOS port of AmiArcadia 36.64, the Signetics-based machines emulator by James Jacobs — the Emerson Arcadia 2001, the Interton VC 4000 and a host of 1970s-80s micros and coin-ops.

Changing machine or options could hang or crash the emulator; that is fixed. On the si50 and mikit, the round LEDs were missing from the main window. Stefan's German translation is up to date.

EdgeSnap 0.2 tiles windows against the edges

Michele Dipace releases EdgeSnap 0.2, a commodity that brings window snapping to MorphOS and AmigaOS 4: drag a window to an edge or a corner and it takes half or a quarter of the screen. Ctrl+Alt and the cursor keys do the same from the keyboard.

Two neighbouring windows share a seam you drag to resize both at once. This version puts a single seam between several tiled windows instead of one per pair, and only shows it when the pointer comes near.

The preferences window has been redone to the style guide. Dock detection goes beyond sixteen docks, the program no longer holds the Workbench screen open, and it says what went wrong when it fails to start.

Bernd Assenmacher releases a CD player and updates ImagePrint

Bernd Assenmacher puts up two archives on the same day: a brand new audio CD player, and an update to his image printing tool.

MorphOS-CDPlayer 1.0 is a plain audio CD player written with Andreas Falkenhahn's Hollywood language. First release: put the disc in, press play.

ImagePrint 1.3 sends a picture to the printer through the new MorphOS print system — JPEG, IFF/ILBM, BMP, PNG, GIF and TIFF. This version brings the guide up to date and fixes the icon shown when the program is iconified.

Both are free; the author welcomes donations.

Nightfox shares four pieces built around AmigaGPT

In the wake of AmigaGPT 3.3.0, Cameron Armstrong (Nightfox) put up four archives on 3rd September: two MUI classes taken out of the program so others can use them, and the port of a Unix tool with its library.

ActionTextEditor.mcc 1.0 subclasses TextEditor.mcc: pressing Return calls a hook the program supplies, right Shift + Return inserts a newline instead. It is AmigaGPT's own input gadget, published as it stands. It needs MCC_TextEditor 15.56 or later.

AudioPlayer.mcc 1.0 subclasses Area.mui: it loads a WAV or raw PCM file, draws the waveform with its spectrum and playhead, and plays it through AHI. Play, pause, stop, rewind and elapsed time sit in a control bar; clicking the waveform seeks. It comes from AmigaGPT's Speech tab.

file 5.48 is the Unix file(1): it tells what a file is from its contents rather than its name, from hunk executables and IFF containers to today's archive, image and document formats. magic 5.48 offers the same detection as a static library, with its header and its database, for anyone who wants it inside their own program. Both archives carry 68k, OS4 and MorphOS binaries.

AmigaGPT 3.3.0 edits the pictures you give it

Cameron Armstrong (Nightfox) releases version 3.3.0 of AmigaGPT, his MUI artificial intelligence client, which talks to models from OpenAI, Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude and SpaceXAI Grok.

The main addition: you can now attach reference images to an image request, and the model edits, restyles or combines them. An Edit button on a generated picture opens a fresh prompt with that picture already attached. The ARexx port follows, with ATTACH for CREATEIMAGE.

The default models change — gpt-5.6-terra, gemini-flash-latest, claude-sonnet-5 and grok-4.5 for text, gpt-image-2, gemini-3-pro-image and grok-imagine-image-2.0 for images — and the code interpreter is on by default for every built-in provider. Model and voice lists are sorted alphabetically. xAI becomes SpaceXAI, without breaking existing settings or scripts.

Fixes: the busy bar spinning forever after an image was generated, every second message failing with Grok, ARexx returning an empty result instead of the error text, and the text editor crashing on exit under MUI 3.8 — where Enter now sends the message.

MPlayer 1.5.2 plays AV1 and no longer freezes on streams

BeWorld release MPlayer 1.5.2 on MorphOS Storage. The player is still built on MPlayer 1.1-SVN-r37401 and 1.4, with Altivec support, and requires MorphOS 3.20.

Under the hood, FFmpeg moves to 6.1.6 and libdav1d to 1.5.4: AV1 now plays. A PNG encoder has been added, which makes screenshots usable at last, and a single-pass Lanczos scaler arrives.

On the fixes side, the freeze that came with the cache enabled on a net stream is gone, and the cache file is now written to T:. “Open Recent file” works again for local files, and the “Enter URL” field keeps a history.
