BBS enthusiasts, rejoice: MTerm (version 0.19), a terminal client by n3, is back on MorphOS Storage.

Built natively for MorphOS, MTerm connects to classic bulletin board systems and supports ANSI, Amiga and Commodore 64 display modes. This 0.19 release adds new bitmap fonts and fixes Commodore PETSCII rendering, adds a title bar and scroll wheel support in the buffer window, shows the elapsed connection time in the title bar and adds a local beep. It also fixes the -X and -T shortcuts during active sessions, extends copy and paste to menus, lets you define your preferred launch mode and brings various GUI refinements. Requires MorphOS 3.x and a network connection.

Stylos 1.6 by Papiosaur

Stylos (version 1.6), the native WYSIWYG word processor for MorphOS developed by Papiosaur, is now available on MorphOS Storage.

Stylos provides a WYSIWYG editing experience with full UTF-8 Unicode support: RTF import/export, PDF export (vector text, tables and images), image insertion, paragraph styles (Normal, Title, Heading 1-3), character formatting (bold, italic, underline, strikethrough, superscript, subscript), find and replace, unlimited undo/redo and spell checking. Requires MorphOS 3.20, the TTEngine library (included in MorphOS) and TrueType fonts (.ttf, .ttc, .otf).

This 1.6 release focuses on printing: paper size (A4, Letter...), correct long-edge vs short-edge duplex, the printer is polled until the job has really finished, far lower memory usage for large multi-page jobs, optional printer-side PDF rendering when supported, plus an improved print dialog (printer chooser as a pop-up list, last printer restored at next launch, more reliable detection) translated into 15 languages.

Stylos comes as a demo version that lets you try all features; saving, PDF/RTF export and printing require registration. It ships with IPP-Print, a tool for printing PDF files. Pricing: Stylos alone at €39, Stylos + IPP-Print at €49, and IPP-Print standalone at €15. The price include support and next updates.

QuakeSpasm 0.97.0 ported by BeWorld

Cult FPS fans will be delighted: QuakeSpasm (version 0.97.0), an SDL2 port by BeWorld, is now available on MorphOS Storage.

QuakeSpasm is a modern, cross-platform Quake game engine based on FitzQuake. Requires MorphOS 3.20, SDL2 (53.20 minimum) and an OpenGL-capable graphics card. Note that GLSL and NPOT features are disabled in this port.

TORCS 1.3.9 ported by BeWorld

Motorsport fans, grab your wheels: TORCS (version 1.3.9), a port of The Open Racing Car Simulator by BSzili and updated by BeWorld, is now available on MorphOS Storage.

TORCS is a 3D racing car simulator featuring many cars and tracks. This 1.3.9 release adds OpenAL/SDL2 audio driver support and fixes the crash-on-exit issue. Requires MorphOS 3.20 minimum, SDL2 for audio and a 3D graphics card of R300 level or higher. Note that performance may be limited on some configurations such as the Mac mini.

Handy for your documents: Image2PDF (version 2.10), a conversion utility by Bernd Assenmacher, is now available on MorphOS Storage.

Image2PDF converts images to PDF and back again. It supports many formats (JPEG, PNG, BMP, IFF/ILBM, GIF, TIFF and PCX) and offers several output formats (A3, A4, A5, B4, B5, Legal, Letter, Executive, US, Comm10 or image size). It can also convert a PDF page by page into images, rotate images (in 90° steps or automatically using EXIF data), scale them, convert between formats, compress PDFs (via Ghostscript) and print. Multilingual interface, including French. Released as “Keymailware” (free, optional donation).

Hollywood: six new plugins

Six new plugins for Hollywood by Andreas Falkenhahn are now available on MorphOS Storage:

APNG (version 1.4) to load and save APNG animations;
Iconic (version 1.1) to handle many icon formats (AmigaOS, GlowIcons, MagicWB, NewIcons, macOS icns, Windows ico, etc.);
OggTheora (version 1.2) to play Ogg Theora videos;
SVG (version 1.4) to load SVG vector images;
TIFF (version 1.3) for TIFF images;
VectorGfx (version 1.3) for vector drawing.

All are available for the m68k-amigaos, ppc-amigaos, ppc-morphos, ppc-warpup and i386-aros architectures.

SDL3 3.4.10 ported by BeWorld

Good news for developers and gamers alike: SDL3 (version 3.4.10), the port of the famous Simple DirectMedia Layer multimedia library by BeWorld, is now available on MorphOS Storage.

SDL provides low-level access to audio, keyboard, mouse, joystick and graphics hardware. This package bundles SDL3 3.4.10, SDL_mixer 3.3.0, SDL_image 3.4.4 and SDL_ttf 3.3.0. The MorphOS implementation supports gamepads with rumble, AHI audio, OpenGL rendering and many multimedia codecs. However, sensors, process management, GPU, cameras and haptic feedback are not supported. Released under the Zlib license. Requires MorphOS 3.20 minimum and the 3.20 SDK.

MorphOS SDK 3.20

The MorphOS development team is proud to announce the May 2026 release of the MorphOS Software Development Kit!

This SDK release delivers a major modernization update for the MorphOS development environment, featuring GCC 15.2.0, Python 3.14.4 with pip and virtual environment support, updated HTML documentation, and extensive updates across the toolchain and bundled utilities. Numerous core development components have been refreshed, including binutils 2.45.1, git 2.54.0, OpenSSL 4.0.0, OpenSSH 10.2p1, ffmpeg 4.4.7, perl 5.42.2, cmake 3.18.6, autoconf 2.73, automake 1.18, and many others.

One of the most important changes in this release is the migration of both ixemul and libnix to 64-bit time_t, off_t and fpos_t types, enabling proper support for dates past 2038 and large files throughout the SDK and newly compiled applications. Due to these ABI changes, developers are strongly encouraged to fully rebuild all existing libraries and object files. This release also includes many stability and compatibility improvements, including significant pdksh rework.

MorphOS 3.20 available

The MorphOS development team is proud to announce the public release of MorphOS 3.20! This release brings major advancements across the operating system, including new hardware support, extensive graphics and 3D improvements, new utilities, filesystem enhancements, and broad modernization work throughout the platform.

MorphOS 3.20 introduces support for the new Mirari architecture together with several dedicated system components, drivers, thermal management support, and updated networking functionality. Radeon graphics support has been significantly expanded with support for additional GPU families, improved HDMI, DVI and DisplayPort handling, enhanced multi-monitor support, improved 3D compatibility, and major updates to TinyGL and Radeon drivers for better rendering performance and stability.

This release also introduces SFS2 support across the operating system, enabling support for files larger than 4GB and partitions up to 2TB. Many filesystem components and utilities have been updated for nanosecond timestamp precision and dates beyond year 2038. Ambient received numerous usability, performance and stability improvements, including enhanced icon handling, improved search functionality, better drag-and-drop support, external panel support, and updated multimedia format handling.

Several new applications and utilities are included in MorphOS 3.20, such as DriveImager, MirrorBackup, SMARTDoctor, OFHTTP, OFHash, OFDNS, Replace, and Automator for scripting and controlling MUI applications. Iris has been updated to version 1.53 and now includes the new Contacts companion application for CalDAV-based address books. FlowStudio received extensive improvements for project management, printing, Markdown support, and development workflows.

Networking and connectivity have also been improved with updates to OpenSSH 10.3p1, TLS 1.3 support in RDesktop, expanded SMB2 filesystem improvements, and improved USB, audio and multimedia subsystem stability. Numerous system libraries and frameworks including MUI, ixemul, Cairo, Harfbuzz, Freetype, OpenSSL4, and ObjFWRT have been updated or significantly modernized.

MorphOS 3.20 additionally contains a very large number of bug fixes, performance improvements, memory handling corrections, rendering fixes, and usability refinements across the operating system. For a complete overview of the changes included in MorphOS 3.20, please read the release notes.

We strongly urge new users to carefully read our installation and troubleshooting guides before they attempt to install MorphOS for the first time. Existing users can upgrade via the familiar procedure but are encouraged to read the guides as well. MorphOS 3.20 is available for download in our files section.
